Whether your on holiday or live in Javea, you must visit the Old Town of Javea, just a short drive from either the Arenal area or the Port area of Javea, the Old town is packed with places of interest, including the famous ancient Church of Saint Bartolome, the main post office is located in the main street that passes through the old town. Along The narrow cobbled streets are many original properties including town houses and apartments blocks which have been beautifully restored to their original condition. Inthe main square is located Javea Town hall building. on the streets leading up to the main square you will find a great selection of bars and restaurants including Casa Grau for its wines bar and bistro, other places that I would recommend are the Soler Blasco Archaeological and Ethnographic Museum, located close to the main church. if you are looking for unusual accommodation the why not stay in an 18th Century Renovated House in the Old Village
Javea Historic centre of Javea, located in the Main church square their is the indoor market area with local owners selling fresh fruit and vegetables, local freshly caught fish and shellfish, purchased from the Javea port market where Javea´s fishermen have been fishing and supplying this market for many years or even a lifetime, cafe bars and internet cafes also rent small locals within the indoor market area. Every week on a Thursday the open square located behind the post office will hold the local market, around 100 stalls sell everything that you can imagine, including fresh local produce. the main road that runs through the old Town is called Calle Ronda Norte, most of the main Spanish banks have branches along this road, including BBVA, La Caixa, and Santander, all of these banks have cash point machines. Javea has its very own micro climate, because of its geographic location between the Caps, Cabo de la Nou and Cabo San Antonio, Javea is also protected by the large Mountain called Montgo, this protects the Javea area from the north prevailing winds, of course if you have a choice, try to purchase a south facing property, especially if you are living in Javea all year round or at least if you will be staying in you ajave property for the winter period.
